Sports Festival : Promoting Education Through Play in Rural Villages – March 2025
In our unwavering commitment to the philosophy “No One Left Behind,” Nirantar Prawah Foundation organized a vibrant sports festival at the government primary school in Kathuli village, located in the serene but underserved hills of District Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand.
Though modest in scale, the event created a lasting impact on the hearts of children, parents, and teachers alike, bringing energy, hope, and motivation to a school nestled in a region where opportunities for structured play and extracurricular engagement are rare.
Tangible Impact & Transformative Outcomes
- Renewed enthusiasm for school attendance among children
- Reinforcement of physical health and teamwork values
- Revival of forgotten hill games and traditions
- Strengthened parent-school relationships
- Discovery of raw sporting talent among rural youth
- Improved classroom behavior and group dynamics post-event
Encouraged by the joy and unity the festival brought, we are now exploring the possibility of making this an annual tradition—with expanded participation from neighboring hill schools to build a broader, inclusive sporting culture in the region.
